How to Handle Bad Church Leadership

Have you ever experienced this? Please share the situation and how you handled it below. I just had an experience with someone (a leader at my church) that was outright rude and disrespectful and other than pray for them I am not sure how to handle it. Maybe I should just pray for them. Looking for Christian advice...

EXTREME Competitive Couponing

So I had an ok experience at a Publix shopping today. Initially, I thought it was good but after looking back I was kind of like ehh. I am not getting the concept of couponing or there are secrets that I don't know? That's to be determined. One thing I do know is that couponing is a competitive sport. That's right who can exercise their right to save the best! I have seen shelf clearers (hair flip to you), stock pilers, newbie couponers, and people who haven't a clue about couponing.

I kid you not this lady that was very pregnant was pushing this very full and very heavy looking cart. Nothing against preggos...been there done that! BUT she was on another level. It was then I realized that couponing can be competitive!

Women (I have yet to see a male couponer in real life but I believe they are out there) look at your cart and  size you up! As if they are saying you're not ready or stay away from my sales. Anyway I am rambling...I say all that to say this. Do the best YOU can do. Couponing takes time (no one tells you that). Don't get discouraged. The more experienced couponers know things that you don't...they may share....they may not. Either way you will learn and once you do there is no stopping you. However, once I find out what they know...I will post it here. By the way I am talking about beyond the bogo's, stacking coupons, and the such. I am talking about the in's and out's of couponing. Trust me...there is more to couponing than bogo's and watching the sales. So stay tuned.

Deliverance is available today!

As Christians, we must praise.... it is an integral part of our relationship with God. We may pray and fast and pray and fast....which is important don't misunderstand me....but if we don't praise we will not unlock the blessings God has in store for us. I have been reading stories in the Bible of praise. We hear the story of the red sea quite frequently. But there is another account of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chron 20. You must read it if you have not and reread it if you have. It has some life transforming information about praise and what it can do for you. This chapter depicts what happens when we praise. God moves when we praise! I have seen it in my life.

Something else that I learned about and experienced that I don't hear about a lot is deliverance.  TRUTH ENCOUNTER=DELIVERANCE. When God reveals Himself to you anew and you encounter the truth you WILL be delivered. Case in point:

Your reality:God will not forgive my sins. I have been drinking....smoking....and committing adultery. I am unforgivable.
Truth Encounter:For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive [our trespasses, sending them away, letting them go completely and forever]; and You are abundant in mercy and loving-kindness to all those who call upon You.

God's word is true. Your circumstances may be your reality but you by no means do you have to stay in those situations. This is why.....

TRUTH ENCOUNTER=DELIVERANCE

Brother or Sister here is where belief and faith come into play also. You must believe it. You have got to know God is powerful enough that He is capable of forgiving you of your sins. You must also have FAITH that what God says is true. Faith is the next thing you must have. It is not an option for you...it is a must.

I am praying for you! Believe and have faith that with God all things are possible. God makes all things new and He is ready right this moment to deliver you and save you!

Devil we are done!

Devil it’s over now! Not another day not another minute will I let you have control over any area in my life. I give God total control over my health, over my marriage, over my finances, and over my family. I understand the power that the Lord has and I am claiming it in the name of Jesus! God has all of the power and He loves me and I know it. I am through with you and your ways.

I am unlocking the Joy and I am claiming the fruits of the spirit in my life. I believe God and I believe His promises. God has surrounded me and delivered me from you. I no longer have to be a slave to my sinful life and I am done. I no longer need to walk around with my head hanging in fear. I know longer need to be sorrowful because God has given me one of the fruits of the spirit and that is Joy. I claim the anointing of God in my life. I will trust God with my home. I will guard the avenues of my heart.

So I am through with you Satan. I am so done with you. You do not have power over me in Jesus’ name. God is the answer and He has been all along. So get your stuff out now….in the name of Jesus!

Thank you Jesus! Thank you for restoring what was lost. Thank You for truth and Your promises. Thank You for the ability to praise you. I will lift my eyes to hills and know that my help comes from You Lord. God you are more than deserving of my praise and I thank You! I love You and I give You all the glory and all the praise.

Hallelujah

A mighty God we serve!

What a mighty God we serve! When I think of the goodness and glory of the Lord...I stand in awe of the God we serve. God created everything and everyone and when I think of that I am amazed. I love what He does. I love who He is. I love what He stands for. I will take a minute to praise Him because He is worthy.

God has given me a gift to write and I will write for the glory of Him. To God be the glory!

What your Pastor WONT preach!

You read that correctly! Stuff your Pastor may not preach! Interesting indeed! What does this mean for you and I? Well Sabbath or Sunday morning our Pastors may get hush hush on some topics.See the percentages of the "Taboo" topics (Percentages reflect topics pastors said they would NOT preach):

Politics - 38 percent
Homosexuality - 23 percent
Abortion - 18 percent
Same-sex marriage - 17 percent
War - 17 percent
Women's role in church and home - 13 percent
The doctrine of election - 13 percent
Hell - 7 percent
Money - 3 percent

Houston we have a problem! I think the Bible should be taught in its entirety. If any Pastors are R-E-A-D-I-N-G  my blog right now. On behalf, of myself (I can only speak for me at this point) but I want to hear everything the Lord says you need tell me. I have been convicted on more times than I can count by a Pastor preaching about controversial topics. It made me search the scriptures and divulge myself into deep prayer and fasting. Praise the Lord I changed my mind and heart on those things! Please PREACH!

I read the original article here !

Moving? I have a tip that will save you $$$$$!

Missed me? It's been a couple of weeks since my last post! I know, I know, I won't let it happen again! Someone out there must love my commentary...lol!

Ok lets get down to business and the reason you are here!!!

If you are moving you need to keep reading. Large moving companies like Two men and a Truck (ironic I know) can cost you in upwards of $1000.00 per moving trip. Well if you are like me and like to cut corners you'll get your boxes from........drum roll please....Wal-Mart!!!! Yup, that's right Wal-Mart. After midnight, they give away the boxes that the merchandise came in. Yipee! This could save you at least $100 bucks!

Another thing I would try is setting a stop time with your movers. Tell them you have to be done by a certain time and see if they don't bust their butts and finish by then. Sometimes, they will continue working after the stop time if they get authorization from the boss. But guess what....you stop paying because they've exceeded their stop time.

Also, it pays to be nice to the movers! They are doing hard work after all!

There you have it folks! Now you're ready to move! "See" ya soon :)

If you were a millionaire would you tithe? Dwayne Wade Tithes!

Well according to several sources, multi-millionaire Dwayne Wade tithes 10% of his gross salary AND endorsements! I just recently read here about Dwayne Wade tithing. They say he makes in excess of $25 million dollars. You do the math.I found that to be pure awesomeness! But my question is, if you were a millionaire would you tithe? Would you be faithful to God with the money He has given you? Think about it. Examine your heart and your spirit. I don't know much about sports or Dwayne Wade for that matter. But I like the fact that he faithful tither. Makes you think about the couple of dollars you throw in knowing you should give more....

Forget Terrible Twos! Let's talk terrible teething!

You parents out there know what I am talking about. Terrible twos doesn't seem so challenging when faced with *Cue dramatic music* TEETH *Insert shrieks*. Fear not parents I have a cheap and almost free solution.Follow these simple steps for a basically free and easy teething solution:

  1. Get one of your baby's wash cloths
  2. Run it over water
  3. Ring out the wash cloth
  4. Get a zip lock bag
  5. Put the wash cloth in the zip lock bag
  6. Freeze for 15 minutes
  7. Give it to your baby to knaw on
There you have it folks. This is the BEST teether I have ever used. Sure, I have other teethers but none of those work like the wash cloth. My baby doesn't like those but she loves the wash cloth trick. Give it a try! Let me know how it works....leave me a comment!

The devil Doesn't Want You to Know....

If you are reading this message...it is no accident or coincidence. The devil doesn't want you to know....about the knowledge of God. Once you come to the knowledge of God there is no stopping you. But you must first come to the knowledge and the devil is trying to keep you from it.

There is a battle going on for your soul as you read this message. When I say a battle I mean a spiritual battle that sometimes manifests itself in the physical realm. I know the message sounds defeating but there's something else the devil doesn't want you to know and that's the love of God. See, the devil wants you to believe that when you die that's it...you're dead and that's it. Or perhaps that when you die you will be reincarnated. But this is not so. There is a place prepared for YOU.

Maybe you or someone you love is struggling with addiction. Pornography, drug abuse, or alcohol abuse. The devil knows all about your genealogy and he will prey on it. But God has allowed me to type this message for someone today. Someone needs to read this today, don't think you stumbled upon this by chance. You did not.

My prayer is that if you are reading this message and you have made it to this sentence you will open your heart and accept the Lord as your personal Savior. God is not willing that you should perish. He wants you to know He's been there all along through everything...And He loves you. He see's the best in you!

"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS".

Praise Break: The God YOU Serve

The God you serve is an awesome wonder. Recount those times you should have been dead. Recall those times you should not have made it. And think about the goodness of the Lord. I don't know about you but there have been moments in my life where I have seen the Hand of God. When I remember those times I can't help but shout Lord what a wonder You are. It is simply amazing how You work things out for me.

Then I think...who am I? Little ol' me. Just a mere servant. But I can see how the Lord orchestrated things for me. Do you remember? Lord help us not to forget.

Has He healed you? Have you been sick in your body and He touched you? Have you seen miracles of those that have been healed?

Lord please help us not to forget what great and mighty things You have done on our behalf. Has He interceded for you or your children? Has He blessed you with a child?

Somebody say Amen! Give God Glory for the things He has done. If God never does ANYTHING else for me....I will forever be grateful to Him.

I will dedicate my life to Him. I can never repay Him...But I can spend the rest of my life giving Him the glory. And raising my children to do the same. My praise for Him is a lifestyle....I hope yours is too!

You don't look Christian....

Have you ever heard that? Well, I've got good news and maybe bad news for you.The way I see it that could mean one of three things. They are as follows:

1. You don't see that person very much which is reasonable. How would they know?
2. They are looking on the outward appearance and not the heart.
3. Your lifestyle does not project "God fearing", "Holy Ghost Filled", "Scripture Quoting" or whatever else would denote you are a Christian. Houston, we may have a problem.

But then again does Christianity have look? Should it have a look? To be continued....Stay tuned.

“But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Eco Styler Review on Transitioning Hair

Where do I begin? I love, love, love Eco Styler Hair Gel! Did I mention that I really love Eco Styler. Ok, let me tell you why. It smooths my 3C hair beautifully. It gives my hair the shine it needs. But for less than $4.00 why not give it try?

By the way, I use the Eco Styler gel with Olive Oil. See below :) I have not tried the other ones yet.

From Relaxed to Natural: Transitioning Tips

Alright so you are not quite natural but hey the seed is planted and you are well on your way. So now what? Here are a few things I would suggest for those transitioning.

  • Realize that you do not have to do the big chop. Rather, you can cut it off slowly until there is no relaxed hair left.
  • The less heat the better. There are so many heatless styles out there. It is said that applying heat affects the integrity of your curl pattern so do so at your own discretion but be cautious.
  • Develop a plan so that you know how you will accomplish your hair goals.
  • Develop a routine and stick with it. The routine should consist of how often you will shampoo your hair, deep condition your hair, co wash your hair, and even do hot oil treatments on your hair.
  • Know the products you are putting on your hair. Watch the reviews on YouTube first. This has been invaluable for me.
  • Sulfate and alcohol are not the best ingredients for your hair. However, you might find products that you like that contain them and that is ok.
  • Know how you will detangle your hair....or if you will even brush your hair. Some naturals rarely if ever brush their hair.
  • Get a ruler so that you can measure your growth. It will help you realize your hair is growing.
  • Understand your hair likes water. As a relaxed gal, I just hated the idea of my hair getting wet other than washing it. But know your hair likes water. Water is now your new best friend.

More tips to come as I go through my transition journey!

Baby Hawk Review

Baby Hawk Mei Tai
Cost: $89.00 USD
Location: Amazon

Pros:
  • I have tried about four carriers prior to this and this is hands down the most comfortable! Trust me that is important!
  • It is stylish and can be customized which I love!
  • You can carry the baby on the front OR the back...safely.
  • It can hold a baby/toddler up to 35 pounds.
  • It is comfortable to wear and doesn't make you feel hot like other carriers.
  • It is easy to figure out unlike others on the market. The wraps are easy peasy!
Cons:

  • My only con was disappointment that I did not get it sooner. That is my honest opinion. This is by far the best carrier I have tried. I recommend this without reservations.
Take Home Message: I love this wrap and most importantly so does my baby! She is happy and comfy in it and what more can a mother ask for. If you have tried other carriers with no success try this one! It worked for us really well when other ones didn't.

Cliques in the Church

Doesn't this seem like such a conflicting concept? When you think about church's do you consider cliques? When I first came to church I did not even think about that as a factor. However, slowly but surely you can see who is who, who likes who, and what they think about you. Perhaps, you don't fit into the culture or you don't look like you belong. Nonetheless, church cliques are very real and extremely detrimental to the body of Christ.

Then I thought, well Jesus had has disciples which is kind of like a clique. They were His ride or die, you know what I mean? But, the difference between then and now is simple...EXCLUSION. All though Jesus did have this disciples, He did not exclude others.

Romans:12:16 says, "Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position" (New International Version).

Saints of the Most High God.....Listen Up.....(And Lord help me to practice what I preach). Real talk, we need to cut that out. Notice I said WE. I have seen both sides of it and it hurts....it hurts your heart. Why perpetuate it any longer? Lets stop the madness.

Challenge for US: Talk to someone outside of your normal gal/guy pals (<---Seriously did I just write that lol).  Get to know them and embrace them. We need each other. Loneliness and lack of belonging is a problem in the church. Adam experienced it in the Garden of Eden long before Eve was there. He had everything he could EVER want but was still lonely. Can you imagine how someone else feels?

I am anti cliques in the name of Jesus!

What's up with Christians dating Unbelievers?

Enlighten me please. We need to get serious about this. The Word of God says this ""Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?" (2 Cor. 6:14, KJV). What is God saying here? He is saying do not go there! But what's up with Christians still going there? The Bible is so clear on this matter but yet we try to make it gray by saying "Well he/she is coming to church?" or "Jesus knows their heart"! Yea, God does know their heart but He knows yours too! Who are you fooling? God...I think not.

Deut 22:10 says "You must not plow with an ox and a donkey harnessed together". Someone out there gets what I am saying here. The two do not go together. By nature, these two animals are inherently different and have different agendas. This metaphorically relates to the above.

Let me break it down in another way. Oil and water don't mix. This is basic chemistry. Now that we are on the same page. These two things do not mix because they cannot form bonds (And the rocks said Amen). Water is a polar molecule and there is an equal sharing of hydrogen and electronegative oxygen. Oil, on the other hand, is made up of hydrocarbon chains and is water hating. But someone out there is saying slow your roll you don't know my man or my chick? They don't hate God. If you are not for God then you are against God.Thus, if you do not love God...... I think you smell what I am stepping in. These two things do not mix. Much like a Christian and Unbeliever you can put them together but the two are inherently different. Their make up is different.

God's chemistry is the right Chemistry.

My message may not be popular but it is Truth. I take truth over popularity any day!

Want to get your blog noticed TODAY?

  1. Content is crucial. Make sure what you are writing about is interesting and/or helpful in some way.
  2. Edit, revise, and edit again (ERE)! I know it sounds redundant but it is necessary to say. No one likes to read something that is not well thought out and lacks basic punctuation.

  4. Link your post to Facebook and other social media.
  5. Post regularly. Daily if you can. Heck, a few times a day if possible.
  6. Shamelessly plug your blog in your signature, on your business cards, basically anywhere you can.
  7. Use www.pingomatic.com. This thing gets your blog to several different sites and it's totally free. Did I mention I love free?
  8. Last but certainly not least, use www.digg.com! This thing is AWESOME! Even if people don't "digg" your stuff at least they are looking at it. Hey, I'll take something over nothing any day.
Have any more tips? Please comment and share them with me!

The BEST Time to Have SEX

Morning, evening, or afternoon you wonder? The best time to have sex by far is the time in your life when you are married. Gotcha, I mean what did you think I was going to say. No but seriously, I was listening to this great sermon on You Tube by PastorJustinP4CM about the best time to have sex and I thought I would share.

WARNING: THE INFORMATION BELOW IS PROFOUND.

God has a design for intimacy and sex. He created us humans as sexual beings with sexual desires. He wants us to have GREAT sex.... but in the right time and place. I will use PastorJustinP4CM's analogy. Think about drinking milk. It has a best enjoyed by [insert date]. Why is that? Well it serves as that company's gurantee that the milk will be great IF you drink it within that particular time frame. THE SAME WITH SEX! Sex is BEST enjoyed during marriage.

MATTHEW 5:27-28 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. "

10 Property Management Secrets No One Will Tell You!

10. Renters have more power than they think. You think the manager of your office doesn't have someone to answer to? If you have a complaint and they aren't cutting it. Get yourself to the Regional Property Manager and see if things don't turn around.

9. The leasing staff loves to talk about you. But when you come into the office ranting about your life, you bet we will talk about it.

8.Fair Housing is real and renters have rights! If you are being treated unfairly check to see if you fall under a protected class. They will never tell you this because its bad for publicity.

7. It takes time to be evicted (Legal Mumbo Jumbo) If you get a three day notice that does not mean literally three days. But this letter can and will put eviction in motion if you don't comply.

6. Your unit may have been tore up from the floor up before you moved in...but we fixed and made it rent ready so you never knew the difference :)

5. A property that is not kept up from the outside (lawn maintenance) is not a good sign. The property may be going through a transition that you may not want to deal with.

4. Leasing staff can't tell you about the people that live there. For instance, if we know a lot of children or one particular race lives there. If you ask us we cannot tell you, it is a illegal.

3. Following up to number 4, if you want to know if you will like it there. Drive around and see the property. Do it in the evening or night.

2. When you're renewing your lease you have a little power. Management does not want you to go. It brings down the occupancy percentage and we don't want that. Ask them to clean your carpet and you'll renew. See what happens.

1. We can't tell you if the area is safe. But if you want to know if the leasing staff really likes the property ask them if they live there :) If they say no, chances are they would not live there so would you?

Make your Resume Great

Want to make your resume work for you? Follow my tips below and get your resume noticed by the person that matters, the hiring manager!

  1. Have more than one resume: There are many different styles of resume. Find the one that suits you and your field best. I like to use the chronological resume style. But, if you are changing fields you may need to change resume styles too. An HR professional advised me of this, and she was right!
  2. Consider adding a summary of qualifications: This is a paragraph style snapshot of what you have to offer. It is no more than seven or eight sentences and should sell your skill set to your employer.
  3. Focus on your accomplishments: This is a common mistake that I made in the beginning. I am telling you so that you won't make that same mistake.Think back to your accomplishments and achievements. Have you saved time or money? Have you improved processes? These are the things employers want to read.
  4. Cliche statements are out: Detail oriented does not say enough about who you are or what you have to offer an organization. They want to see to the cold hard facts.
  5. Don't underestimate the power of Numbers: Numbers and percentages look great on a resume. An example of this would be something like the following: Decreased expenses by 15% through implementing new software system.
As I learn more tips I will share them with you. Happy Blogging. Hope this helps someone!

My Do's and Don'ts for New Mothers and Mothers to Be

Do:

  •  Do Stock up on diapers, formula, and wipes. My rule of thumb (always have two extra). Two extra boxes of diapers, Wipes, Formula (so and so forth).
  • Do buy at least one can of formula....even if you plan to breastfeed. Just in case.
  • Do listen to the advice you get from other mothers....but...implement what works best for you.
  • Do take the help you are offered. If someone asks to help you, accept and thank them. Take the time to rest and relax...You've earned it.
  • Do understand that our plans do not always work out. I had a birth plan written out with several copies to hand to the doctors and nurses. I even had a Douala to make sure my wishes were expressed. But not everything on my birth plan happened and that is ok.
  • Do bring size newborn and 0-3 in your labor and delivery bag.  My peanut was 5 pounds when she was born much too small for her fabulous 0-3 outfit.
Don't:

  • Don't worry the baby will not break! Be gentle they are fragile but trust me the baby will not break.
  • Don't buy too many clothes...I know despite the urge to shop (and believe me honey I have it)...Wait it out until after your baby shower. All your friends want to buy cute little mini clothing and trust me they will.
  • Don't worry about your crying baby in public. They were all there once whether they remember or not. Baby's cry that's what they do...assess the situation and do not panic.
  • Don't miss the signs of postpartum depression. It is very real and nothing to be ashamed of.
  • Don't feel bad if you don't get the mothering instinct instantly. It was not instantaneous for me but rather gradual.

Experience....Trial and Error :)

Product Review: Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel

Cost: $3.00-$5.00 USD
Locations: Sallys, Amazon.Com

Pros:

  • Great gel for curl definition and smoothing hair
  • You get a lot in the container for cheap (In my humble opinion).
  • It does not get hard like other hair styling gels.
  • There is no alcohol so this does not dry out your hair after a long day.
  • Makes my hair shiny and pretty looking (In my humble opinion).
Cons:

  • Some have said it leaves white particles. I think that depends on what products you put it together with. I would recommend using it with (water and olive oil mixture in spray bottle). I have heard mixing it with cantu shea butter will leave white particles.

Take home message: Buy this product (lol...only if you want to)!  It works for my 3C hair very well. It easily smooths my curly transitioning hair. It makes your hair look supple and pretty. I really love this product and it is my new best friend to say the least.

Product Review: Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner

Cost: $3.00 and $5.00 USD
Locations: Any big box retailer (Walmart, Target, CVS,  Rite Aid, Walgreen's)

Pros:

  • Smells great! I really like the Smell.
  • Makes my hair feel soft. I have 3C African American Hair.
  • It's affordable so if you don't like it. You are not out a lot of money.
  • First ingredient water, which shows there is a lot of water in the product.
Cons:

  • Second ingredient is alcohol. Based on my knowledge, this is known to dry out hair.
  • There are A LOT of ingredients I cannot pronounce and have never heard of it.
  • In my opinion, this is not the best conditioner for my hair.

Take home message: There are better conditioners for your hair. This is not the worst (I'm sure) but it is not the best for me. Would I buy it again? Probably not and I will be looking into better conditioners for my co washing. Based on the amount of alcohol in the product I would not recommend it.

Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural Tips

1. Be Patient-Be patient with your hair. It will grow because that's what hair does. Hair grows approximately 1/2 inch each month. Be patient with your hair.

2. Get to know your hair-I recommend you get to know your hair type (My hair type is 3C). Get to know what your hair likes and what it doesn't like.

3. Watch Youtube-There are so many fabulous tutorials on hair types and hair products and hair styles and they are updated almost daily. My faves are kimmyatube and taren916 to name a couple.

4. Protective styles- These are important and will help you retain length. Sometimes we think our hair isn't growing when in actuality its just we are not retaining the length.

5. Learn the difference between moisture and lubrication-Grease is lubrication and a good leave in conditioner adds moisture. Moisture is essential.

Be who you are...
